Judy Thomas - spirit and inspiration
I consider I have lived a charmed existence. time and place unique in this world. My life before Judy brought me to her at a time when we were ready for each other. She was my partner, my wife, my co-conspirator through many visions and projects. With her passing, I miss her dearly but she has left me with much to do.
I am a generalist and present my way of looking at the world.
I came of age in the sixties, it was a period of self expression but it was also about community. A balance of self and an understanding of being a part of a whole. We were right.
For this site, I would like to present the evolution of my visual work. Coming from a background of video, I have begun to explore product as a print and not soley for the screen. My work in the past has been ambient and abstract. Changes over time is a major theme in non narrative pieces. The last few years I have been working with the moment, a snapshot, a period now gone. Both the seen and the unseen. In this era of ubiquitous photography and video, I have been working with digital collage, the mixture of line and texture, the real and the abstract on multiple scales. I embrace the quantum and try to visualize from scales large and small with energies from all dimensions. What we see is amazing. What we don't see is unbelievable. What we can see in our minds eye is beyond words. Thank you for looking.
We are at a crisis and need to take action now to mitigate the disasters, now becoming common and destined to get worse. Our children's world will be different. Climate change is occurring and needs to be responded to on the equivalent of war footing. 0 to 4 and we can change the world in a generation. but this I leave to my Naifelectronic site that will be available soon.
